This is one of the last pens made by Pelikan to bare the insignia W. (West) Germany, and these were made right before the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany. These pens even today are considered indestructible, made for the students and meant to take a lot of damage and misuse and still function, which is rare for any fountain pen. This particular model is the 7th generation Pelikano model. A minor technical change was made in 1989. The barrel got four elongated ink windows, which allowed the writing and reserve cartridges to be seen. Otherwise the pen remained exactly the same as the model 6. "Pelikano" is engraved on the clip of the pen, and the logo of the company stands on the red cap-top. The Pelikano line is a perfect entrance pen in the fountain pen world. The pen can take any ink cartridge and even some ink converters, so it is always ready to be used. We will supply a pack of 6 Pelikan blue cartridges with the pen. Its also very easy to clean and maintain and a very easy to remove nib. The nib of the pen is solid steel, with the logo of Pelikan engraved on it. The nib is F/A grade, F stands for fine and A stands for entrance student model nib - which means that is very hard to damage even if dropped and easy to write with at almost any angle. This nib produces a constant fine line, not wet and very precise, good to write with in notebooks or use for some precise writing. Great built quality with steel matte finished cap.
