Condition and information:
A truly gorgeous Sheaffer pen with its unique Tulle guilloche pattern engraved similar to a fretwork over the black enamel finish. Here at ProtoPens, this pen and its black & gold design reminds us of the Toledo technique used to decorate some of the most special pens in the world. This lady pen has a lovely silhouette, tapered on both the body and the cap. This design provides a somewhat unique posting form factor, when the cap is posted onto the body, the cap and body seamlessly create one form. This is why the cap is longer in relation to the proportion of the body, which usually is not the case with other pens. The cap features a spring loaded clip, which instead of bending, the hinged part of the clip actually retracts into the cap. This allows for the pen to be easily hanged over very thick coat fabric or even a thick notebook cover, without it actually bending or possibly damaging the clip. As all Sheaffer pens, the White Dot stands proudly inserted on the top of the clip. The net mesh ends in a black crown both on the top of the body and the top of the cap, that gives the pen that postmodern vibe. The nib has a very distinguishable spherical shape iridium tip, M size, or actually KM "kugel medium" which allows the pen to be held at various angles towards the paper while writing, as opposed to most nibs, where the nib has to be always oriented face up. Even though the pen has a semi-hooded nib, it is surprisingly soft, close to semi-flexible. This means that there will be line thickness variation based on the pressure you are applying while writing. The semi-hooded nib design is meant to provide additional protection to the nib, in case the pen is dropped. The pen ring is engraved with made in U.S.A. imprint. This is a truly gorgeous pen with a unique design, with many features, it is also very practical. This is simply because the pen comes with its original bladder converter which makes it easy for the pen to be filled from a bottle of ink, but it can also be used with Sheaffer cartridges. Besides, the pen is super easy to disassemble. This means you can easily clean its parts including the section, the nib, the barrel and the cap. A pen you can truly rely on for everyday use, a true workhorse pen, which also provides a wonderful writing experience and it comes in its original Sheaffer box. The box comes with a pen pamphlet which represents a real curiosity because they are rarely preserved to this day. The pen comes in NOS condition, never used.
