Founded in the year 1906, Montblanc was created when a banker and an engineer who joined their forces to manufacture pens which would shake the fundaments of the fountain pen industry in the early 1900s. Eventually, the Montblanc brand transformed the pen making craft into real art.
This Meisterstuck Classique Rollerball Pen 163 is a product with a DNA from the classic original 1950s 144 model. A design that is preserved by the company for nearly 70 years.

The pen has a slip-on cap for fast and easy deployment, with a "click" sound of the cap when opening and closing. The pen is accented with gold plated details like the clip, the tip, and the three rings. The trimmings are thick gold plated, so no gold wear-off can occur. The barrel and the cap are crafted in shiny precious Black Resin the signature material of Montblanc, which not only has a beautiful shiny finish it is also very durable and difficult to scratch.

The cap is inlaid with the iconic Montblanc emblem, the big white star snow mountain top.
This pen belongs to the Montblanc Meisterstück Classique line which is slimmer and smaller in comparison to the Meisterstück Le Grand line which gives it a more elegant look.
The central ring is finely engraved with “Montblanc Meisterstuck” where Meisterstuck stands for a Masterpiece. The clip is engraved with micro letters that read W. Germany. Pens made from the 1970s to the late 1980s, bore the “W.Germany”, imprint on the clip, while post-1989 (with the unification of Germany), bore only the “Germany” imprint together with the serial number. That’s another proof that this pen was produced in the mid-1980s.
This finely crafted writing instrument uses a rollerball refill, the original refill is included and it’s still writing. When depleted it can also be used in the future as a refill reference when buying a new one. This rollerball pen is the right choice for a smoother writing experience as the rollerball uses special ink which is water-based and much more fluid than in the ballpoint pens which use an oil-based ink which is much thicker. The pen is very well balanced with a good grip and feel in the hand.
The cap can be posted giving additional writing balance.
