Condition and information:
One of the flagship Montblanc pens from the 2XX line in the 1960s, amazing design and from, hard to believe it was made nearly 50 years ago. The build quality is amazing, materials are best there are. This highly processed brushed plastic unlike other plastics, simply does not crack and its very hard to ding or scratch, so even dropping the pen its unlikely to cause damage. The body is soft to the touch and feels very nice in the hand. The cap is solid steel with silver plating and brushed, very heavy and when posted it provides excellent balance to the pen. The silver plating is also applied to the inside of the cap to prevent rust. Since both the pen and cap are brushed, hardly any fingertips or finger oil will show, so the pen always stays clean and shiny. Typical to Montblanc precision, there's a
very precise cap on body fit with a very distinct "click" sound the closing the cap. Slip-on cap for fast deployment and nice grey ink window for ink level read-out. The nib is solid 14K 585 white gold, very sharp true Extra Fine size, very smooth on the paper, non-scratchy, simply a perfect writer. This is a perfect pen for writing notes, or writing in notebook where precision typeface letters are needed. Piston is super smooth, takes a considerable amount of ink and features a nice yellow rubber band under the turning knob, both for smoother operation and helping seal the piston under the turning knob. A very easy and trouble free pen to use and maintain; the front section is easily removable simply by unscrewing it, thus exposing the piston shaft and the whole section/nib assembly. This is a rare feature on piston fountain pens, which allows the pen to be easily cleaned with tap water. The white star is located on top of the cap and turning knob. Highest quality and unique appeal, a superb Montblanc pen of the 60s ready to be used. The pen is in mint condition, with minimal signs of use, and still with sticker nib size on the body.
