Condition and information:
Offered here is a high quality pen, the Hobby Pen 1970 made in Germany. These are nearly identical to some of the Reform or Senator pens we've seen, related to the Merz and Krell pen company, so it's very likely that this was one of their sub-brands. The pen is high quality made, with the same materials as Reform pens, the nib is Peter Bock same as on many Reform and Senator pens. It is a high grade stainless steel nib that won't rust, bend or damage, gold plated in two tones. The nib has Iridium tip, which is one of the strongest elements, it is anti corrosive. The nibs with iridium tips are the longest durable nibs, the iridium simply does not ware off even after many years of writing. The nib is semi-flex, thus it will write thinner or thicker lines depending on the pressure applied while writing. The pen is ergonomic, a normal size pen, similar to Reform 4328 pen, well balanced in length and thickness, very good grip and feel in the hand. The pen offered here is in absolute NOS (new old stock) never used condition with its original sticker on the body. Beautiful clear see through blue ink window. Piston is smooth with a silicone cork which always makes for a perfect fit within the body and will never leak, with 3 separate O-rings. Very easy to use pen, the ink and nib do not dry and always writes without any special attention or previous knowledge in fountain pens. It is very easy to clean and maintain; easily removable nib unit with a simple unscrew action.
