One of the world's largest and oldest manufacturers of pens and pencils is German company Faber-Castell founded by Kaspar Faber in 1761. This mechanical pencil is made in W. Germany in early 1970s. The royal green pencil has a classic traditional look and it embodies everything a superior mechanical pencil by Faber Castell should feature. The pencil is very heavy, it features a radially knurled front section. Additionally the pencil features a 6 stage rotating indicator, which should enable the user to know which type of leads the pencil is loaded with, AKA the indicator for graphite grading scale. The mechanism features a solid steel parts, made to last forever. Smooth push button mechanism first deploys the tip of the pencils which is retractable for protection, and after the tip is deployed the leads follow. The green part of its body is made of thick plastic. The pencil has a great balance and it feels very comfortable in the hand. The shape is very elegant and anatomical. The balance point of the pencil is towards the writing end that makes it good for extended writing. Absolute NOS - never used condition, comes in its original box as sold at the time.
