Condition and information:
We are proud to offer this extremely rare find, a time capsule preserved original M600 set, together with its siblings D600 & K600 in their original box. The set had never been used besides for testing and comes as it was purchased several decades ago in its original box. The set is made out of shiny black resin, and it simply shines and lusters as the black resin can. This M600 was introduced in the 80s to replace the M400, but it has added trimmings and some other changes, what is now known as "M600 Old Sytle". The pens here are made in early to mid 1990s, distinguishable by the 18K two tone gold nib which was not introduced before 1990. The pen was launched after the discontinuation of the old M400 series, and its the basis for all M series after this one, almost all M series pens have these features. The pens are truly stunning, with double rings on the cap, as well as a ring on the turning knob and even on the grip section of the fountain pen. Besides the stunning looks, these rings prevent cracks even if the pens are dropped. The fountain pen is a classic form factor, following the style of the original 400 from the 50's, thick, masculine and compact in length when closed, but very long when posted and a very thick pen that feel just right in the hand. Solid weigh also give the pen a good feel and sturdiness. The pen features a super smooth M medium two tone 18K gold nib. The nib feels soft and could produce some thicker lines up to B or BB when pressed gently. In addition since this is an M nib with a bigger tip, simply by slight rotation on the pen, i.e. slight twisting while writing, the nib can produce amazing writing with line thickness variation as fine as F or even EF. The nib has some small flexibility and if press gently while writing it will write double broad BB. Very smooth piston and large ink capacity. The K600 and D600 are also large pens, when closed even larger than the M600. These are also perfect pens for everyday used, large with nice solid feel to them and perfectly crafted metal mechanisms with precise push button operations. The ballpoint pen uses a standard G2 refills, a original plus a new one are included, while the pencil uses a nicer/thicker 0.7mm leads, also included. The pens are in mint condition, NOS new old stock, never used. One of the best Pelikan pens ever made. The pens come in their original box, which on the back of it has an "PELIKAN W. GERMANY" imprint, which again would suggest that the pens were made in 1990 or 1991, i.e. right after the unification of Germany since presumably these boxes were already made an in stock. Anything made after 1990-1991 does not bare the "W." as in West Germany marking, rather only Germany.
