Condition/Info for this particular pen:
Offered here is a stunning very early production original Rotring Tintenkuly Rapidograph. In the 1950's when the first Tintenkuli pens were created by Tintenkuli Handels GmbH in Europe they were deeply worried if the needles will break, work or if they will clog with ink and render the pens useless. Very few people believed in this idea in Europe, even though it was widely used in USA. There can be no better proof of the success of the original Tintenkuli pen then the fact that we are selling one, 60 years later, perfectly functional. Not only that the Rotring (Rot Ring meaning Red Ring), had been success, since than the name Rotring had been synonym for rapidographs worldwide and took over almost the entire world market. The pen offered here is one of the earliest Rotring Tintenkuly pens, the second series from the first Tintenkuli line. These pen are simply stunning both in looks and performance. The pen is made out of cellulose with a deep amber red ink widow. It also features a rare Greek Key pattern ring, which is gold filled as is the clip. These pens are famous for their reliability and simplicity of use, and still are the preferred technical drawing instruments by many engineers and architects. Unlike the new models these are piston filling so no messing around with filling tubes, just simple twisting turning knob action for filling the pen with ink from an ink bottle. The piston mechanism is amazing, amazing build quality, hard to believe that it is made more than 60 yers ago. The piston is smooth and perfectly functional, takes considerable amount of ink and its fitted with the original cork. The pen is in mint condition, no cracks, no scratches, dings or similar issues, perfectly preserved with minimal signs of use and perfectly functional.  Very ergonomic size and weight, fees great in the hand. Needle is precise 0.8mm size with constant line, no clogs, great writer. Its very easy to disassemble  the piston section in order to clean and maintain it, as well as easy to remove needle by unscrewing action.
