Condition/Info for this particular pen:
Offered here is a very rare original Kohinoor Rapidograph made in Germany. These pens were the only true competitor to the Rotring Rapidographs, and are nearly identical in every sense. In the 1950s the first Tintenkuli pens were created by Tintenkuli Handels GmbH in Europe but they did not cough on in US for quite some time. The pen offered here is one of the rarest vintage rapidographs, made by the underdog at the time, Kohinoor, or Koh-I-Noor. It is made in a beautiful torpedo form factor with red turning knob band and cap-top, identical as some Rotring models. These pen is simply stunning both in looks and performance. These pens are famous for their reliability and simplicity of use, and still are the preferred technical drawing instruments by many engineers and architects. Unlike the new models these are piston filling so no messing around with filling tubes, just a simple turning knob action for filling the pen from a bottle of ink. The piston mechanism is superb build quality, hard to believe that it is made more than 60 years ago. The piston is smooth and perfectly functional, takes considerable amount of ink and it's fitted with the original large silicone cork with two seal ends. Capped turning knob ensures no accidental leaks. Very ergonomic size and weight, feels great in the hand. Needle is precise 0.2mm size with constant line. Its very easy to disassemble, the piston section comes off easily by unscrewing it in order to clean and maintain. The needle is also easy to remove by unscrewing it. The pen is in absolute mint condition, no cracks, no scratches or dings, perfectly preserved and perfectly functional.
