Well-regarded Italian pen manufacturer Aurora made the streamlined and modern Auretta pen beginning in 1965 to serve as a fountain pen for elementary students. Aurora’s double cartridge design introduced in the Auretta was well received and subsequently adopted by Pelikan in some of their later pens. Though initially introduced as a mid-class pen, this particular pen with its classic and luxurious brushed stainless steel body, is a high end variation of the Auretta line. The brushed stainless steel surface of this pen does a fine job of hiding fingerprints, ensuring your Auretta will always look its best with minimal maintenance. Additionally, its high quality build gives it the durability so lasts for many more years: even if this Auretta is dropped, its thick stainless steel surface is difficult to ding or damage. This pen’s sturdy steel design, well balanced and still manages to have a light feel in the hand and it is not excessively heavy. It features a special flat two-sided nib which enables you to use either side for writing. This nib design is not as often seen, and ensures more flexibility in producing high-quality results for both right-handers and lefties (including hook writers, which are left handed overwriters), as it increases the angle on which the pen can be held. The nib is smooth and non-scratchy with a nice medium M size. The nib is hard to damage as it is stiff, and great for long and demanding work on any paper. A very good and smooth writer. The pen is remarkably easy to clean and maintain; simply remove the front grip section. The nib is removed by pulling it out with the fingernails. Pen is in mint condition, truly a remarkable pen worthy of any collection and yet durable enough for your everyday use.
