Condition and information:
This is the last type of the legendary Pelikan 120 line (Type III), lunched in 1977-78. The model 120 is one the longest produced pen in the Pelikan's history, produced for over 30 years, and the only one which was preceded by two other models baring the same insignia "120", type I and II. As a matter of fact, in 2016 Pelikan launched a 4th generation Pelikan 120 model, nearly identical to the original 1st model. This speaks volumes about the reliability, popularity, deign and value this pen has. This is not a coincidence, the 120 Model was one of the pillars of the company. This pen is based entirely on the MK series, and its still not known why Pelikan decided to mark some of these pens with a 120 insignia, when in fact the pen is nearly identical to the MK line. Unlike the entrance MK line, this pen has a solid 14K gold nib. And one thing is for sure, this pen was made for just over a year, and hence its now one of the rarest 120s out there. The pen has it's signature MK features, such as air tight cap and feeding system which make the pen airplane safe. The nib rare stunning writer, with nearly full flexibility, rarely seen on these semi-hooded nibs. It is smooth on the paper, a true EF size, but it will produce any type of line thickness with the gently applied pressure while writing. The pen is made out of black resin, unlike other materials the resin always shines and its more difficult to damage or crack. Piston is smooth and one of the best piston systems invented by Pelikan, consisting of 8 parts. This series are very reliable, the pen works and writes perfectly. The third series follows the modern age of elongated and thinner pens, unlike its predecessors with shorter but thicker bodies. Logo located on top of the cap. The pen is in mint condition, perfectly clean and shiny, no scratches and no cracks.
