A rare Reform 6488 piston filler fountain pen. This pen was a direct answer to Montblanc's 3X and 2X series of the late 1960s as well as their Monte Rosa series. The pen is also very similar to the famous 4383 triangular Reform models. The pen is a round shape with a special hooded nib. Each European company had to make one so Reform did as well. The hooded nib intended to provide more protection for the nib, as well as some other benefits. These are one of the best pens manufactured by Reform, in the golden era of the company when they made highest quality fountain pens. High gloss high grade red resin gives it a nice shine but also its a tough material difficult to scratch or crack. The hooded nib is EF extra fine size very smooth with constant precise line. Very ergonomic pen, well balanced, with smooth piston action. Piston takes a lot of ink and can be used for a long time once its filled. Silicone cork ensures no ink leakage. Beautiful and reliable Reform pen, everything a fountain pen should have. This pen is mint condition new new old stock, still with its label on the body.
