One of the best multi-color pens ever made, the R3 model by Platinum. The pen is simply astonishing in any way. It's heavy and long, oversize at 145mm, 147mm deployed. The best of all is the true, genuine Make-E finish. This is done by the original technique, where one can actually feel the finished texture. Maki-e is the traditional Japanese art form of sprinkling gold or silver powder onto lacquer. Here the technique has been applied to a very modern and convenient pen for a superb harmony of the contemporary and the cultural. The pen features a mechanical pencil and black and red pens. These are deployed by a twist on/off action with a precise mechanism. All birds in traditional Japanese motifs, is a pair of cranes (tsuru), flying in front of a volcano mountain.
