Offered here is a extremely rare pencil by Faber Castell Osmia, model 202. The Osmia company was founded in 1919. They made some amazing writing instruments and were strongly admired for their pen quality and innovation. This caught the eye of some of the larger pen makers in Europe, and soon enough in mid 1930s, Osmia was partially acquired by Faber Castell. Since the Osmia brand had a such a good reputation, Faber Castell decided to keep the brand, and thus continue to make only the best products under the brand Faber Castell Osmia. In fact, the pens were made in part by the same people that worked at Osmia. However in early 1950s, the entire Osmia company was acquired by Faber Castell and they decided to phase out the Osmia name completely, only the diamond Osmia logo stayed on their pens, without the Osmia name, i.e. this pencil, made in early to mid 1950s.

The pencil offered here is made entirely out of black celluloid with a thick gold plated trimmings. It features a precise solid brass mechanism, push button repeater and it still works like a charm. It uses 1.18mm leads, and it precisely deploys them. The 1.18mm lead size is still produce hence its easy to acquire. The build quality is amazing, similar to Pelikan 350 and 450 pencils. The quality of these pencils is still difficult to match today, they will work perfectly for decades and more. Beautiful Osmia logo is located on the top of the push button. Thick gold plated ring, clip and front section, with no gold wear off.  Great feel in the hand, very heavy and thick, great handling, balance and writing experience. With such thick lead refills the refill can be deployed 2-3mm out from the tip, which provides the user with a better viewing space and precision while drawing or writing. The pencils comes in mint condition, no scratches or any other marks.
