The Z37 is one of the rarest Reform pens we have offered for sale. It combines two of the most popular designs and features of the Reform pens at the time, the beautiful and pleasing triangular form factor from 4383 models, and the hooded nib and front section from the 6488 model. This pen was a direct answer to Montblanc's 3X and 2X series of the late 1960s, as well as their Monte Rosa series. These are one of the best pens manufactured by Reform, the highest quality fountain pens. The pen here comes in that nice vintage olive green color, very appealing and pleasing to the eye. With its sleek design, it stands out among fountain pens even today.  

The pen features a special hooded nib, inspired by the Parker 51. Each European company had to make one, so Reform did as well. Even though many of the hooded nibs do not have a lot of flexibility, this nib remarkably has it. This 14K 585 solid gold EF extra fine size nib, is fully flexible. The tines of the nib split apart as soon as it touches the paper, with no pressure. What this nib does is remarkable; it changes the line thickness with little to no pressure while writing. The writing is unique, as from an EF size varies to medium lines to very wide lines up to triple broad 3B, mimicking almost all nib sizes, it can even express emotions while writing. The nib features nice crisp engravings that read "14C", "585" and "Germany". Among other benefits, the hooded nib provides more protection for the nib, that is, less exposed nib has lower chance to get damaged if the pen is dropped or in similar circumstances. The feed is ebonite providing perfect and constant ink flow.

Very ergonomic pen, well balanced, with smooth piston action. Screw on cap easy to open and close as well as posts very deeply and nicely. Piston takes a lot of ink and can be used for a long time once it's filled. Silicone cork ensures no ink leakage. The pen can be very easily disassembled, the entire front section simply unscrews, which is rare in piston fillers, but it's very convenient as it exposes all parts for simple tap water washing when not using the pen.

The pen comes in near NOS never used condition, no marks of any kind, still with its nib sticker on the body, perfectly preserved.
