Condition and information:
Rotring Side Knock pen and pencil set. The Side Knock models come in few variations, but this is the top of the line, marble Lapis lazuli blue, lacquer finish and gold plated model. These were discontinued few years ago, but are still one of the most valued Rotring writing instruments. The pens are remarkable feat of engineering and are the only pens with a unique Rotring patent mechanism, where while bending/breaking the pen in the mid section, the on/off mechanism is triggered. The mechanism is intended to work, while holding the pen and pressing anywhere on the upper section with your thumb finger, will make the pen bend in your hand, and trigger the mechanism. The pens are beautiful marble Lapis lazuli blue, and with a extreme shine due to the lacquer finish. The base is solid steel. All exposed metal parts are gold plated. The pens are in excellent near NOS condition, minimal to no signs of use. The size and weight enhance the writing experience, and give the pens a very good grip and feel in the had. Due to the rubbery and lacquer finish the pens do nor slip and make for a really good grip and feel. A modern design every-day writer one of extreme quality and endurance, these pens are virtually indestructible.
