Condition and information:
One of the most recognizable and most sold Montblanc pens of the late 60s and 70s, the Montblanc 320 and its many variations. These are the pens that succeeded the 50s Montblanc pens, and were made in more modern form factor with sharp edges as opposed to the earlier torpedo shaped forms. The pen offered here is with one of the rarest and most beautifully writing nibs there can be, a OBB nib. The pen is made out of highly processed black plastic resin. It's very thick and also has some shock-absorbing properties. This makes the pen very hard to ding or crack.
The pen has a precise fit on cap with a very sharp "click" sound the closing the cap. The posting of the cap gives it a very good ergonomic writing balance, and even if used not posted the pen feels nice in the hand.

The nib is what makes this pen a real star. It is a solid 14K 585 gold, OBB (double oblique) near to triple oblique O3B. The writing with this nib is remarkable. The lines are extremely wide, up to 1.5mm, most notably the down and up strokes, and the side strokes can be wide or thin depending on the angle of which you hold the pen, in natural handwriting, side strokes will be very thin. The user can adjust the line thickness simply by increasing the angle of the pen towards the paper while writing, i.e. the line will be thinner if the angle is larger, and thicker if the angle is smaller. Also rotating the pen slightly in the hand will also produce line variations. Such nib are simply great and fun to write with. The pen is wet, meaning it has a large ink-flow to allow for such wide lines, so it's a preferable pen for writing letters, postcards, invitations or similar cards where normal to bigger letters size are needed. It is not good for writing in small letters such as small pocket notebook. The nib is super smooth, glides over the paper effortlessly.
One other advantage is that the nib is thicker than usual and also the iridium tips on the tines are much larger, visibly so. This makes for a much more sturdy nib which is much more difficult to damage even if the pen is dropped. The pen has a perfectly functional piston mechanism, with its original silicone cork. It is super easy to disassemble and clean completely as the entire front section simply screws right out. The nib can be also easily removed and even replaced by a similar nib. The 320 pen, even though 3rd in the Montblanc class at the time, is one of a highest quality, exceptionally rare, unique appeal and performance Montblanc pen from the golden age of the fountain pens. The pen is in great condition, with minimal signs of use, but no scratches or cracks. It comes in its original box with warranty and instructions. Originally the pen was sold in a fountain pen store in Frankfurt called "Haizmann", which is featured in the rhomboid shaped sticker on top of the box.
