It is considered that the Parker Rialto 88 model was inspired by the French square Place Vendôme paying tribute to the beauties that contemporary European design had.
The actual year when this model was produced is 1987 but the company decided that they liked how “88” sounds so they decided to go with 1988 as the official year of production. At first, the model was offered in Matte, Plated and Lacquer finishes with sections in color with matching barrel ends. Later, in 1992 the model was redesigned and the 22K gold trims and colored sections were replaced with 23K gold and sections in black color. In 1994 the “88” model was discontinued and the model stayed in production under the name “Rialto” only now instead with the French Place Vendôme it was associated with the Italian Rialto district in Venice.
The line was redesigned although the main features remained the same, the only distinction between the old and redesigned model was the plain and now designed nib, and the new model didn’t have a “Rialto” engraving on it.
Pen offered here is a Rialto model crafted in silver-plated body and cap with fluted design and black details and section. The midsection of the pen features nice crisp engravings that read “Parker Rialto" and “Made in UK”. The clip is shaped in the recognizable trademark Parker arrow symbolizing the company's pioneering attitude. 
The Parker company uses date codes to mark their writing instruments and this pen is marked with IP date code engraved on the midsection, which means that it dates from 1997.

The pen is fitted with an M medium-sized 23K gold plated nib with a beautiful design and an engraving with the Parker branding name. The nib is non-scratchy and smooth, with a constant nice line without skipping. The pen will provide you with the perfect writing experience, simply gliding on any paper. It features a slip on-off cap that posts nicely giving the pen a longer length and stability while writing. 

The pen can be used with both cartridges or a converter if the user wants to fill the pen from an ink bottle. We will include an original Parker converter so the pen can be used right away.
It is very easy to clean and maintain since the nib section can be disassembled and simply cleaned with water.
The pen is very well balanced with a good grip and feel in the hand. It is a great choice for long writing every day sessions with no hand fatigue.
