Condition and information:
These are the flagship pens of the 60's MK line Pelikan pens, the model 30 also called M30. These are a highest quality pens made out of black resin, and the fountain pen was marketed by Pelikan as their first completely safe airplane pen due to the delicate feed system, made in the early 1960's. The pens are in NOS condition New Old Stock, never used condition, nearly impossible to find in such condition after more then 50 years after they were manufactured. This line was launched in the early 60's as a new modern, space era inspired pens. The fountain pen features a very nice and precise EF (extra fine) 14K gold nib. This nib is great for clean and precise writing, such as notebook writing with any typeface, smooth on the paper. It has a constant ink flow with no excess ink, very clean pen to write with. The ballpoint pen and the mechanical pencil are "push button" with a precise refill deployment, very elegant pens, with great feel in the hand. The ballpoint pen uses a Pelikan 37 refill (standard international size 575 refill available at our store and still widely available and produced today). The mechanical pencil uses 1.18mm leads, still widely available today. The fountain pen can use any bottled ink. It has a perfect balance especially when the cap is posted (placed on top of the pen), the pen is very easy to write with. Fountain pen features a clear see through ink window and smooth piston. This piston system is one of the best piston systems invented by Pelikan, consisting of 8 parts, takes considerable amount of ink and it was marketed as Airplane safe as it did not leak ink in different pressure variations. This was achieved by a special feed system and also almost airtight cap top body fit. The set comes in the original genuine leather green pouch for 3 pens, perfect to carry around and put in a bag or a pocket.
