Condition and information:

One of the rarest and best Reform sets. The set consists of the famous triangular Reform fountain pen 4383, the triangular ballpoint pen No. 650, and the Marker/Rollerball 965 pen, in a beautiful burgundy red color. Made out of high-quality red plastic resin, gives has a high shine and gloss but it's also scratch-resistant. The design and shape of the pen follow the style at the time, a very similar pen to Montblanc Mote Rosa pens, Senator and other pens. The pens have excellent grip, weight, feel in the hand. The fountain pen at almost 140mm, posted at 165mm, it has a great balance and handling. The nib extraordinary 14K 585 nib, EF size, very smooth on the paper but with full flexibility, rarely seen on newer pens today. In such a nib the tines of the nib split apart as soon as it touches the paper, with little to no pressure. This nib changes the thickness of the lines with every stroke. Writing with such a nib is pure joy, as from an EF grade (extra fine) varies to medium lines to very wide double broad BB line and even wider, mimicking all nib sizes, it feels like writing with a paintbrush. The feed is large, ebonite with a large ink canal to feed the wet nib. Piston takes a good amount of ink and can be used for a long time once it's filled. Silicone cork ensures no ink leakage. There are a number of transparent ink windows around the barrel, that will clearly indicate the ink level. All trimmings are thick gold plate that won't wear off.

The set also includes the model 650 triangular ballpoint pen. This is one of the most recognizable Reform ballpoint pens for its ergonomic shape. This ballpoint pen form factor was copied to almost all plastic one-use ballpoint pens we see today. This is a true high-quality vintage ballpoint pen, unlike the new ballpoint pens. It has a perfect grip due to the special grip section, it somehow feels right in the hand. Contributing to this feel is the pen's weight, considerably heavier than most ballpoints due to the solid steel mechanism on the top of the pen as well as the metal refill. Having the steel mechanism on the top of the pen gives the pen a great balance. This pen features a very special and precise push-button mechanism. This mechanism features a small "ball bearing" guided mechanism, where a small steel ball is guiding the push knob. This makes for a very precise push button with a distinct "click" sound.

Very rarely seen, the set is completed with the 965 marker/rollerball pen, which is also capped as the fountain pen. The pen has its original Reform marker/brush refill, an 811/850 standard rollerball refill which is still manufactured today and readily available. We will include an additional new Schneider 850 Topball refill with this rollerball pen.
