One of the best and one of the most reliable vintage Reform pens, and here in a very rare version, the black resin body with a super tough steel cap. These are one of the best pens manufactured by Reform, highest quality fountain pens. The steel cap was added to the 4383 line later on in production, and only briefly for the higher-end models. It also bares the "Original", as the Reform's original name from the 1930s is "Original Reform". Besides the design, the matte steel cap has two additional functions, the first one being it provides a superb handling balance when posted, and secondly its nearly impossible to damage, both the cap or the nib which it encloses. The other remarkable feature of its pen is its nib. All nibs for Reform were made by Peter Bock nib company, some included the Reform insignia on them but some the Peter Bock logo such as this nib. Regardless of the insignia they bore, Peter Bock nibs were and still are one of the best in the world. The nib is super flexible, the tines of the nib split apart as soon as it touches the paper, with no pressure. The writing is remarkable; it changes the line thickness with little to no pressure while writing. The writing is unique, as from an F fine size varies to medium lines to very wide lines up to triple broad 3B, mimicking almost all nib sizes, it can even express emotions while writing. The design and shape of the pen follows the 60s style, a very similar pen to Montblanc Monte Rosa pens, Senator and other pens. Super sleek design, even today it stands out among fountain pen. Very ergonomic, well balanced, with smooth piston action. Piston takes a lot of ink and can be used for a long time once its filled. Silicone cork ensures no ink leakage. The feed is ebonite providing perfect and constant ink flow. This is one of the best Reform pens ever made, and also one of the best among all pen makers, everything a fountain pen should be. This pen is mint condition with minimal signs of use, no scratches or cracks, perfectly functional ready to be used.
