Craig R. Sheaffer was raised in the cultivation of the Sheaffer tradition. Following his father’s idea to create the perfect writing instrument in 1928 Craig invented the revolutionary Balance Lifetime fountain pen which contributed for the growth of the Sheaffer reputation as one of the best writing instruments manufacturers in the aspect of technical quality. The release of the new Balance II writing instruments in the 1990s, represents the perfect combination of the latest writing technology at the time and the traditional feel that the renowned Sheaffer ancestor gave to the pens.

Listed here is a beautiful Sheaffer Balance II ballpoint pen in a Red Crimson Glow marble pattern, produced in the Sheaffer FT Madison Iowa plant. The pen comes in beautiful ruby red marbled color accented with 23K gold electroplated trims. The white signature Sheaffer dot stands proudly on the upper part of the pen right above the clip. The pen is decorated with two gold plated rings on the midsection which give the pen an elegant style. Later Balance II pens, which were made towards the end of the last century in 1999 and 2000 had a single cap bad on the fountain & rollerball pens and single band on the ballpoint pens which made them more easier to decorate. The pen features a very thick acrylic body, which is made to resemble early celluloid pens, as the original Balance was actually from.

The pen uses a twist mechanism that is located between the grip and the barrel, and the refill tip comes out when you twist the grip.

The pen has a balanced shape that feels very pleasing to the touch and it represents a true pleasure to write with. An excellent choice for frequent use as it simply glides on any paper offering smooth and easy writing. A nice touch is a radially knurled section which provides for a better feel and grip and does not allow for the pen to slip while writing.

The pen uses a proprietary refill and we will provide you with the original blue ink Sheaffer refill which had not been used.
