Condition and information:
Garant was well know E. Germany pen company, to rival the most recognizable brands on the west side. It was also one of the  biggest pen manufacturers in East Germany. They made some astonishing writing instruments with a know-how of the other  western German brand. The pen offered here is second in line in size pen, one of the biggest of all Garant pens, the Nilor line. The pen is oversize, thicker, longer and heavier, then the pens in its class, like Pelikan and others. The quality is also one class higher then many other pens. Its simply superior writing instrument. It takes an enormous volume of ink, so once filled it will write for months. It has a very good grip and writing balance, with posted or not posted cap. The pen is made out of black resin, the signature material of Montblanc who call it "black precious resin". The pen is in absolute mint condition, no cracks, dings or scratches, no signs of any kind. It has a very unique cap covered turning knob. This feature was used on many pens in the past. The point behind this capped tuning knob is that you can never accidentally turn the turning knob, which will result in ink leakage, so this feature is quite useful. The nib is stainless steel, gold plated, EF size, with full flexibility, thus if pressed gently while writing it will write F, M, B and even BB lines. Its very smooth on the paper and precise too. It is also very big nib, with a nice curvature and great viewing angle. Huge and clean ink windows. Truly rare and wonderful Garant East Germany pen, one of the best they ever produced and a true rarity.
